Summary This episode of the PBS series Craft in America looks at the relationship between craft and the military, and profiles five practicing artisans who either were veterans or whose work honors them. Artisans covered in the program are: Ehren Tool, Gulf War veteran, who makes clay cups that draw attention to the realities of war and its consequences; Judas Recendez, Iraq War veteran who practiced ceramics at the Army Arts and Crafts Center and went on to get a BA in Fine Arts at the Corcoran College of Art + Design; Peter Voulkos, celebrated ceramic artist, who served in World War II, and earned his art degree through the G.I. Bill; Pam DeLuco, who created a book that presents the experiences of women veterans; Eugene Burks, Jr., a member of "the Old Guard", the Army's oldest active duty regiment, who makes leather horse tack for the caissons that transport the remains of fallen soldiers to Arlington National Cemetery.
