Summary |
With the growing realization that contemporary society's problems are human, not technological, a troubled society turns to psychology for help. In response, numerous psychologists are bringing their talents to bear on socially relevant problems. This emerging social relevance is reflected in the problem-oriented theme chosen for the 1969 American Psychological Association Convention from which this volume takes its title. The volume brings together some of the many 1969 convention presentations bearing on society's problems. The contributions are diverse, ranging from descriptions and evaluations of concrete action programs, exemplifying what actually can be accomplished, to theoretical essays providing a more general framework for action.
