Summary A history of the reign of Henry VIII as it relates to Cardinal Wolsey and their joint political endeavors. At the beginning of Henry's reign, Wolsey was one of his most trusted advisors. It's even thought that Wolsey, at one time, had a greater hand in the politics of England than the King did. In the end, Wolsey's connection with the Papacy and Rome and his failure to procure Henry his divorce from Katherine, combined with many supposed plots to undermine the King, resulted in Wolsey being arrested and stripped of all titles.
