Summary |
Some have been here for several years, others just arrived from Tunisia, Syria, Burundi, Vietnam or Mexico. All students of Ms. Loiseau's class at the William-Hingston Centre in Parc-Extension, teaching them French through texts about love. Miss Loiseau's class is unlike any other. Her adult students are recent immigrants: some of them refugees, most learning to read and write for the first time, all eager to study, find work, and raise their families in peace. Their stories of pain and hope converge in one big-hearted lesson. |
