Summary This tome on beekeeping covers nearly every conceivable topic regarding bees. The author suggests that beekeeping is not only a means of livelihood but also a "health-giving pursuit" and a source of "recreation to the busy man." He suggests that "grass-farming and dairying and orchard planting" are "suitable auxiliary occupations for the bee-keeper." The author seems to have rather interesting ideas about what may be accomplished in one lifetime. The book includes a treatise called "Honey: Its Uses in Health and Disease." This offers an interesting look at early 20th-century medicinal uses of honey.ℓ
