La última página está firmada por el autor.ℓ ℓEnglish: ℓBrother Peter was always a layman by his own decision. He remained in Mexico and devoted his life to the Indians, whose language he learned by drawing up small vocabularies with his colleagues, which he transformed into books and grammars. Due to the difficulty of translating the indigenous languages, the members of the religious order directed by Gante used figures and hieroglyphics known by the Indians to transmit them their catechism and culture. The Catechism of Brother Peter is one of this type of works; a precious volume of reduced size, with the elements of the Christian doctrine represented by signs and drawings, coloured with childlike stokes, ordered in strips, from left to right on both sides. It begins with the formula to cross oneself and continues with the Lord's Prayer, the Hail Mary, the commandments, sacraments and the acts of mercy. The last page is signed by the author.ℓ
