The Society for the Study of Child Nature was founded in 1888. In 1912 the name was changed to Federation for Child Study and in 1924 to Child Study Association of America. In 1973 the Child Study Association of America merged with Wel-Met Inc. to form the Child Study Association of America/Wel-Met. Works by the Federation for Child Study and the Child Study Association of America are found under Child Study Association of America. Works by the other bodies are found under the following headings according to the name used at the time of publication: Society for the Study of Child Nature. Wel-Met Inc.
