Summary "This book discusses the mind and its disorders. For the present edition the work has been thoroughly revised throughout. The following are, perhaps, the chief changes. Under the heading of Treatment of General Paralysis in the fourth edition I gave a critical digest of the manifold methods of intrathecal medication. As these methods have all been nowadays replaced by two more recent and successful ones--the try-parsamide and the malarial treatment--I have described these methods in some detail to the exclusion of the above critical digest. A chapter on encephalitis lethargica has also been included"--Preface. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2016 APA, all rights reserved).
