Summary Ashok Rajamani was twenty-five years old when his brain exploded. It happened suddenly, a random act triggering an aneurysm, the result of a genetic flaw that had lain in wait since his birth. It was a terrifying experience that left him with continuing physical and emotional problems, but unlike so many people who suffer from brain injury, Ashok was lucky. Not only did he survive the catastrophic event, but in only a matter of years he has recovered enough to live once again on his own, and to resume, at least partially, the lifestyle he had previously enjoyed. For Ashok, it has been a journey of discovery, of having to relearn even the most basic things, of piecing together a past, of reclaiming a life, of dealing with the rage that results from such a traumatic injury, and of coping with the societal prejudice inflicted on those with handicaps.
